Jimmy Merkel grew up in Plattsburgh and graduated from Plattsburgh High School and has lived in West Chazy for the last 26 years. He worked in his family department store as a buyer and manager of the men's department where he learned to maximize every dollar spent. When the store closed in 1994, he began his current career at UPS, but missed the daily interaction with customers.
In 2003 Jimmy began working in real-estate, which has given him the wonderful opportunity of working with many different kinds of people from all over the United States and the world. Jimmy is a real-estate salesperson specializing as a buyers agent and residential sales. He enjoys the personal interaction and opportunities for customer service and, as a real estate salesperson, commits to working with clients in the search for a property that fits their needs, and beyond.
He loves the North Country, Lake Champlain, the Adirondack Mountains, and feels lucky to have grown up here. As a lifelong resident he enjoys sharing his knowledge and love of the region with his clients. He enjoys all the North Country has to offer culturally and participates in many outdoor sports including boating, hiking, waterfowl and whitetail deer hunting and skiing. He enjoys woodworking and designing remodeling projects, which has helped many of his clients as well as himself as an apartment building owner and landowner.
